It was a great weekend of racing for the second round of the Texas Winter Series, and all the way from Kansas, Johnny Wilhite a customer of ours managed to make the trek to check out some of the best racing the south has to offer during the winter months.
With a great turn out of over 300 entries for just the big bike classes (supermini and under race Saturday), and a track that had seen plenty of water from huge rainfall just a few days earlier, things were looking great for a race track to get rough!
All the classes had some great action, with the C classes seeing good rides from HP customer Garret Pope, Ryan Fesler getting his feet wet in the B classes, and Devlin Watkins taking christmas break from college to come out and play.
Notable riders included Zane Merrett on his new Horton Yamaha ride, Carter Halpain absolutely dominated in the B classes, and the A classes seeing convincing victories in the 450 class by Cole Thompson, and in the 250 class Blake Neiheiser taking commanding wins. Lane show looked good on his rides on the 450.
According to Johnny, in his first foray into the Texas Winter Series - it was rough, more rough, and did he mention rough! The track developed great, and Johnny rode well on his HP/YZstuff yamaha 250 two stroke to take second place in the 45 plus class. Check in for more news soon.
